Newcastle Transport was proud to once again support the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Christmas Campaign, with the return of the much-loved Christmas Bus Lights Expedition for the third year running.
The festive experience saw patients and their families taken on a magical evening tour to explore some of Newcastle’s brightest and most spectacular Christmas light displays – a special opportunity to bring joy, excitement and a sense of celebration during the holiday season.
Adding an extra layer of magic to the night, Margaret Pannell, the original brainchild behind the Christmas Bus, joined families on board to guide them along her favourite Christmas lights route – a meaningful moment that connected the past, present and spirit of the initiative.
In addition to the tour, Newcastle Transport was delighted to donate $5,000 to John Hunter Children’s Hospital. The donation was made using unclaimed lost-property funds collected across the network, transforming forgotten change into meaningful community support.
Newcastle Transport extends its heartfelt thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at John Hunter Children’s Hospital for the life-changing care they provide to children and families every day. We are honoured to support such an important part of our community and to play a small role in spreading festive cheer when it matters most.
