Additional services added and minor changes to ferry timetable

From Monday 10 August, there will be an additional 19 ferry services added each week and some minor changes to the ferry timetable during the evening and night.

Keolis Hunter General Manager, Arsene Durand-Raucher said while there were minor changes to the timetable to accommodate staff breaks at the new ferry office and amenities at Stockton, the team had worked to continue to improve the services between Queens Wharf and Stockton.

“We know the ferry is a hugely important link between Stockton and the city, for residents, workers and visitors. This timetable change aims to further increase ferry services and provide required breaks for our staff while minimising impact to customers,” said Mr Durand-Raucher.

“These minor changes will see some ferry trips adjusted in the evening and later at night on weekdays and weekends to support the change in location for meal breaks and we have also taken the opportunity to include additional trips each morning and on the evenings on weeknights and Saturday.”

“In the lead up to the changes on 10 August, I encourage our ferry customers to head to newcastletransport.info, their favourite travel app or scan the QR code at the wharves and check their trip.”

The ferry crew were settling into their new facility and enjoying being part of the Stockton community.

“It’s a beautiful new space and it’s already starting to feel quite homely. Everyone at Stockton has also gone out of their way to make us feel welcome,” said Keolis Hunter Ferry Master, Jess Plumsted. 

On 23 July Keolis Hunter will host a community event inviting customers, local businesses, residents and broader community to visit the new facilities and get to know the people and communities we transport and work alongside every day.

“If you’re free on Thursday 23 July, I encourage you to come down and enjoy a coffee with the team,” Mr Durand-Raucher said.

“It’s a way to thank you for welcoming us to Stockton and getting to know our neighbours from local businesses, residents and the broader community.”
