From 11 October timetables are changing
From Sunday 11 October, Newcastle Transport is updating its timetables.
There will be additional bus services for Lake Macquarie and minor changes to bus and light rail timetables, including dedicated school services, from Sunday 11 October.
Keolis Hunter General Manager, Arsene Durand-Raucher said the minor changes to Newcastle Transport timetables were to improve reliability and bus routes 41, 43 and 48 will be extended until 7pm on weekdays.
“Next month, we will be making some tweaks to bus and light rail timetables, including school services, to make sure services are on time for customers,” said Mr Durand-Raucher.
“There will also be twenty additional bus services to make it easier for Lake Macquarie residents to get home on weekdays, with the routes 41, 43 and 48 operating until 7pm.
“Some school bus services will be starting earlier in the morning to make sure students are getting to school well before the bell time and in the afternoon some school trips will be departing from schools closer to the bell time.
Students and their families are encouraged to head to the Newcastle Transport website to check out the summary of school service changes to see if they are affected before these adjustments are implemented on Monday 12 October.
“While most trips have been adjusted by only a few minutes, we encourage everyone to check their trip.”
“We know reliable services are important to the people of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. This timetable change will also take into account congestion and realistic travel times.
“We will continue reviewing the network in line with customer feedback. We will continue to consult with the community and monitor the network to ensure we deliver the best possible transport services,” said Mr Durand-Raucher.
Customers can plan their trip, find out more about the additional trips or get in touch with the Newcastle Transport team here.
Schools with changes to their dedicated school services are detailed on our summary of school service changes in alphabetical order. We ask that all students that use a school bus to get to school on Monday 12 October check their trip beforehand.
